This is one of the terminal railway stations in South Central Railway Division of Indian Railways. The railways spell it's name as Machelipatnam while listing the station, and in all other occasions,it is spelled as Machilipatnam. At present, one daily express train plys between Machelipatnam (MTM) and Secunderabad (SC) and the train numbers are 7049 and 7050. Another express train plies between Machelipatnam (MTM) and Tirupati(TPTY) and the train numbers are 7401 and 7402. Another express train plys between Machelipatnam (MTM) and Yesvantpur (YPR) three times a week. The train numbers are 7211 and 7212. Several passenger trains operate daily between Machelipatnam (MTM) and Gudivada (GDV), Vijayawada (BZA),Visakhapatnam (VSKP).

    Actually, its old name is called as Bandar(still today). In the year 1960, (I know very well), the Station's name is Masulipatnam(MTM) having railway staff of more than 200.(My father is one of them). There was a direct train from MTM to VascodaGama(Goa).

    Thanqu Very much for the two images but it is not satisfied me as it is not clearly displaying anything. Please try to some more clear pictures in its place. (Fifty years back, in its present station place there was Goods shed). I will be very happy if you show 2/3 pictures.
