The Sanlin building was a row of 19th century multi-floor stores united with one modernist facade, erected in 1953. Beneath the modernist facade are Greek Revival buildings.

The clean lines and linkage of gold and silver aluminum panels on the building's cladding resemble a mid-century classic watch band.
