The Mark 8 Motor Whaleboat is a US Navy utility boat which is usually carried aboard ships to serve as crew transport, boarding party transport and man overboard duties.

Built by Studebaker, the M29 Weasel is a tracked transport vehicle designed primarily for operation in snowy conditions but also performed capably in difficult/amphibious terrain.

Used primarily by the US Army, the Weasel entered service in 1943 and saw use in the European Theatre during the Second World War and use by US and NATO forces for several decades after.

Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park's Mark 8 Whaleboat has been loaned to the park for display by the US Navy, and was last in service aboard the USS Nicholas (FFG-47)
