Tatanka Wind Farm is placed on a low ridge at just over 2,000 feet elevation and straddles the North and South Dakota border about 20 miles (32 km) west of the town of Ellendale, North Dakota. Commissioned in 2008, it consists of 120 Acciona AW-1500/82 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 180 MW.
