Bison Wind Farm is located 3-13 miles (5-22 km) north of Interstate-94 between State Roads 31 and 49, about 40 miles (65 km) WNW of Bismarck, North Dakota. It was commissioned in several phases between 2010 and 2015.
Phase 1A (2010) consists of 16 Siemens SWT-2.3-101 turbines.
Phase 1B (2011 & 2012) consists of 15 Siemens SWT-3.0-101 turbines.
Phases 2 & 3 (2012) each consists of 35 Siemens SWT-3.0-101 turbines.
Phase 4 (2015) consists of 64 Siemens SWT-3.2-113 turbines.
Altogether Bison wind farm contains 165 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 496.6 MW.

Note: Individual turbines in phases 1A and 4 are identified as such; turbines in phases 1B, 2 & 3 are not.
