  • I (Victor Machado) was present at the inuagration of this Church in 1966, inuagrated and blessed by the then H.E. Rev Bishop Madtha of Agra. I was one of the alter servers for the mass and Rev. Fr. Alfred Mendonca was the first parish priest who was responsible of the construction of the Churh on N-2 Road. I use to almost next house to the church ans was working then for H.A.L., Kanpur Division.
  • I am so happy to see the photograph of Dec 26, 2007 of this church. As mentioned in my earlier comment, I was probably the first (adult) altarboy of this parish and spent most of my spare time assisting the then first parish priest Rev. Fr. Alfred Mendonca in the 1966 to early 1970's. I with my wife Monica and parents were living near the church on N2 Road itself and sometimes we were referred as the 'first parishioners', as I was very active in church activities like English choir, Legion of Mary, Easter and Christmas celeberations etc. When we left Kanpur in May 1981, the then parish priest was one Fr. Denis D'Souza. I lost touch with him and if anybody knows his e-mail address, I appreciate if they can e-mail me the same at vicmon953@hotmail.com. I wonder who is the current parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker's Church at N-2 Road, Kanpur. Thanks.

  • Thanks some mistakes the church was inaugurated in 1970 only, look at my FB of today and you will see the construction and my dad who used to be part of it, Francis Kallarakal, I and my brother were Altar Boy from 1971 to 1975. This is Paul Francis, I hope now you can check what is right and wrong.
