One of the finest restaurants in New Orleans, 1403 Washington Avenue had just finished a post-Katrina renovation in October 2006. It was listed at the top of the Zagat guide for New Orleans for many, many years until Katrina forced it to temporarily close and break its streak. It used to require a jacket, but they've loosened their dress code. The dress is now upscale, jackets preferred at dinner. No shorts.
