This was the flagship Camden, NJ terminal for the Reading Company controlled Atlantic City Railroad. Passengers looking to travel to the NJ shore would catch ferries from Market Street in Philadelphia and then board train at either this or the PRR controlled terminals in Camden.

This Kaighn's Point Terminal's terminal was built in 1924 to replace an outdated terminal to the north. It was a reaction to the increase in the demand for leisure travel during the roaring 20's, but within 5 years both the Delaware River Bridge and the Great Depression would hobble this sort of railroad use and after a mere 10 years the terminal was closed with the PRSL merger in 1934 with all traffic shifting to the PRR's Federal St terminal to the north.
