This area directly west of Penn's Landing, is the original site of the city of Philadelphia.

Many of the city's histoical landmarks are located within the Old City boundary, including the Betsy Ross House, Elfreth's Alley, the first U.S. Post Office, Independence Mall (itself containing Independence Hall), and the Liberty Bell.

Other sights include a branch of the U.S. Mint, the National Constitution Center, Independence Visitor's Center, and WTXF-29 studios, home to the city's FOX affiliate.

  • "Old City" is the proper spelling accepted by the residents. septa has eleiminated the "e" at the 2nd street stop on the market/frankford line.
