Estate home designed c. 1913 by Charles A. Platt in the Colonial Revival style on originally 49 acres of land for John Teele Pratt, Jr {industrialist, capitalist, financier}. Pratt served as vice president of Chromium Corp. of America, United Chromium, and Chemical Treatment Co., partner of the Post & Flagg and Harris, Charles Pratt & Co. and Upham & Co. stock brokerage firms, and director of Birmingham Realty Co. and Transcom Electronics.
