Shungnak is a traditional Inupiat Eskimo subsistence community along the Kobuk River in the Northwest Arctic Borough of Alaska. The population was 262 at the 2010 census.
The original settlement was 10 miles further upstream at Kobuk. The village moved due to flooding.
