This 6 block area along Cedar Springs Road between Oaklawn and Douglas is known as the gay crossroads of Dallas, Texas. Known as the "gayborhood" and the "cedar springs strip" a majority of the gay owned businesses (retail, bars, restaraunts) are located in this area. A popular area with an active community, pride parade and various parties throughout the year. Strip is home to the original JR's bar and Sue Ellens bar (named after the lead characters in the famous Dallas TV show).
