Brooklyn Grange is the name of a rooftop vegetable garden on top of this building in Queens. It is to cover 40,000 sq. ft. The planting medium is an engineered soil called Rooflite Intensive specifically produced for rooftop environments. The group behind this effort plan to make a profit from selling their produce to the public at a farmstand and to some restaurants.
