In 1911 the basement and first three storeys of this warehouse building were built for Tees & Persse Ltd. The remaining three storeys went up in the fall of 1913. Tees & Persse eventually had an empire of warehouses stretching across western Canada dealing with goods that ranged from boots to steamship tickets. On May 10, 1924, a fire occurred in the building, with more damage coming from water than from actual fire. Following 66 years of occupancy, Tees & Persse relocated to Saskatoon's north end. Other building occupants have included a harness manufacturing company, a fruit distribution company, a candy wholesaler, and the Hudson's Bay Company. It became Charter House for artisans in 1987 and was open to shoppers for crafts and coffee.
