Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited (KPCL) is a new generation world class port and poised to become India’s largest port in the near future.
Once an important Seaport, alongwith Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam, this small village is now regaining slowly its long-lost glory with the GVK Super Thermal Power Plant and Fisheries Industry around it.

The port is strategically located in the East Coast of India in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh, 180 kms. north of Chennai city.

KPCL’s master plan includes:
- 42 berths with a total Quay length of 12.5 kms
- Draft to be increased to 20 mtrs, capable of handling 200,000 DWT super capesize vessels
- Handling capacity of 200 Million MT, making it the Largest port in India
- Dedicated Container terminal with a capacity of 5 to 7 million TEUs p.a.
- Back up area of 6500 acres for transit storage
- Closed warehouses with a storage area of 1.5 Million sq ft
- Integrated real time control of cargo handling and management information system
- Hub Port for Coal, Iron ore, Fertilizers, Containers, Petrochemicals, Break bulk, Project cargo, Automobiles, Shipbuilding & Repairs
- World Class Bunkering facility
- Rig Repairing facility as well Offshore facilities

When fully operational, Krishnapatnam Port will stand tall with pride by being the Largest port in India!
