a.k.a. "Murphy-Blair" Neihborhood. Was once a village independent of the City of St. Louis. This area once featured several large Indian mounds, very similar to the ones found across the Mississippi River in Cahokia, IL. Legend has it that one or two of the mounds existed on the inside of two streets that form circles visible on the map. This neighborhood features the famous Crown Candy Kitchen ice cream shop that has been open since 1913, and across the street the restored 14th Street (pedestrian) Mall.
