Patmos Fortress

It is located on a rocky hill in the Hisarya Locality, right at the place where river of Borovitsa flows into Arda river. It was used for guarding the river valley and for light signaling as well. It has a visual contact with few neighboring fortresses. It was probably constructed in the 10th century. The fortress encompasses area of 3 decares and has irregular rectangular shape.
In some parts the walls are preserved up to height of 3 m and width of 1.75 m. The ruins of two semicircular bastilions, single vault church and rooms could be seen.
