Meander of River Arda near Patmos

Bulgaria / Kardzhali /
 meander, invisible

The Arda River is the largest right tributary of the Maritsa River. Its beautiful meanders can be seen in the middle course of the river. There it meanders among the huge rock massifs and domes of the Eastern Rhodopes. The reason for the creation of the unique bends is the pronounced mountainous character of the river with a small average slope and a large coefficient of curvature. The places around the river are a good place for picnic and fishing.
