Formerly known as the Mart Building. Most of the building is 10 floors, but there is a prominent 20 floor tower at the northeast corner. Completed in 1933 the building served as a major induction point for the U.S. military through WWII, the Korean conflict, and Viet Nam. The building spreads over an entire city block bounded by Spruce Street on the north, Poplar Street (US 40) on the south, 13th Street on the west, and Tucker Boulevard to the east.
The building was was renamed in 1988 by President Reagan to honor Mr. Young for his time in the U.S. House of Representatives.
