This tower was designed by Philip Johnson, and was completed in 1982. It stands 600 feet (183 m) tall, and contains 1,200,000 square feet (111,500 m²) of office space. It is located in the Financial District, between California, Davis, Front, and Pine Streets near Market Street.

A mass shooting occurred here in 1993. See the terraced garden memorial at the entrance (on the north side of the block) for details.
