The Paris Las Vegas is a hotel and casino located at the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. As its name suggests, its theme is the city of Paris, France. It includes a 541 ft (165 m) replica of the Eiffel Tower, a marquee sign in the shape of a Montgolfier balloon, a 2/3 size Arc de Triomphe, and a replica of La Fontaine des Mers. The front of the hotel features replicas of the Paris Opera House and the Louvre. The Paris Las Vegas is linked via a promenade to Bally's Las Vegas to the north and it also has a station on the Las Vegas Monorail.
Ground was broken for the hotel on April 17, 1997 and it opened on September 1, 1999. It cost $785,000,000 to build and occupies 24 acres. The architect was Bergman Walls and Associates, Leidenfrost, Horowitz, and Associates, and MBH Architects.
The Paris has a 368 m (112 m) tower with 2,916 rooms, an 85,000 sq ft (7,896 sq m) casino, and a 7-story parking garage. The tower's design is patterned after the Hotel DeVille.
Building began under Hilton Hotels, which purchased Bally Entertainment in 1996; Hilton's casinos were subsequently spun off into Park Place Entertainment, which purchased Caesars World in 2000 and changed its name to Caesars Entertainment in 2004. Caesars Entertainment is the owner of the Paris Las Vegas.
