Transbay Transit Center. Major terminal and transfer point between Muni (San Francisco), SamTrans (San Mateo County) and AC Transit (East Bay). The original transit building was a Timothy L. Pflueger-designed building completed in 1939. It was built as a terminus for electric commuter trains of the Southern Pacific, Key System, and Sacramento Northern. The building was closed on August 7, 2010 and demolition was completed in June 2011.
