Built by Joseph Willets of the landowning family, c.1874 in the Italianate gabled style. Renamed "Longlands" when it was purchased as the summer estate of A. Wright Chapman in 1920. His daughter, Grace W. Chapman, married Thomas Willets Lapham, son of Edward Morgan Lapham. His son Thomas Willets Lapham, Jr. who was born in 1940 graduated from Friends Academy. After being put up on the market in 2017, the estate was sold to North Hempstead Country Club and subsequently demolished in January 2018 for the installation of a putting green. The interior contents were, however, salvaged and removed.

  • Originally called Sunny Croft and built by Joseph Willets, a widower in 1874. The property was purchased from Joseph's father Edmund R., who lived across the street at Homewood. The 20 acres originally extended back past the water tower to where the N. Hempstead Country Club ends. A. Wright Chapman purchase property in 1920 and renamed it Longlands, a Chapman ancestor came from Longlands in Cumberland. In 1929, he sold the back 10 acres to the North Hempstead Country Club.
