Lepenitsa Cave was proclaimed a landmark and is a protected area of ​​52 acres. So far have been explored and mapped 1525 meters, but no one has reached the end and has not seen everything that nature has created. It is open for visiting on September 11, 2010. The temperature here is constant, about 11 and 15 degrees. Some of the halls have interesting names such as The concert hall, Armani and The landslide. There are unique natural formations – stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, subterranean lakes, pearls and roses. The cave is located at the foot of Syutkya Mount and the area around the entrance is covered with forests. It is about 10 km southeast from town of Rakitovo and 11 km from town of Velingrad, by the road that leads to the town of Sarnitsa.
According to the register of the Bulgarian Speleological Federation, the Lepenitsa Cave is № 0513.

The cave and its surroundings was been declared as natural monument, declared by Order № 2810 of 10.10.1962 of the General Directorate of Forestry at the Council of Ministers, № 56/1963 of the State Gazette.
Area: 5.0 hectares.
