Tignall is a town in Wilkes County, Georgia. Tignall is a small community, with a population of 653 at the 2000 census. Tignall's total area, as reported by the US Census Bureau, is 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²), all of it land.

The Town of Tignall was officially incorporated on August 22, 1907. It is currently one of three incorporated municipalities within Wilkes County, the others being the town of Rayle, and the city of Washington, which is the county seat. Though not a recognized municipality until 1907, Tignall's status as a community goes back much further. As early as 1783, local churches had begun to organize, such as Independence United Methodist Church, which still meets in Tignall today.

Tignall was the birthplace of State Congressman & Senator, and nine-term Georgia Secretary of State, Benjamin Wynn Fortson, Jr. (1904-1979). Fortson was wheelchair-bound his entire career, having been paralyzed in an auto accident as a young man.
