Burnettown, South Carolina

Town with a population of 2,720 at the 2000 census. Named for Daniel Burnette, who purchased property in this area in 1890. When Augusta and Aiken built a trolley system to transport people between the two towns, it ran past his land, and the area began to be known as Burnette Town. Chartered in 1941 as Burnettown.
