Hradiste (Grad) Vranik

An elongated hillock, circumflexed by the Sazava River, inhabited already in prehistoric times, at first probably in the Late Bronze Age, later during Hallstatt period and early Middle Ages. On the top was a fortified settlement of total area about 7 hectares. There are found broken parts of the outer defensive bulwark, destroyed by fire and the remains of the internal ramparts that all area divided into smaller parts. Fort is dated to the 9th century and first half of the 10th century.
