Estate home designed c. 1924 by Carrère & Hastings in the Georgian Revival style for Allan McLane, Jr {financier}. McLane served as partner of the investment banking firm of Redmond & Co; his wife Edith was also a daughter of Herbert Pratt. They also commissioned a gatehouse and farm complex by Kimball & Husted.

The estate was subsequently owned by Fredric Richardson Pratt {industrialist, financier} who renamed the estate "Friendfield Farm". Pratt served as general manager of Socony-Mobil Oil Corp., director of South Porto Rico Sugar Co. and trustee of Williamsburg Savings Bank. It was later owed by Adrian T. Bogart, Jr. who renamed it "Friend Field".
