 Gothic (architecture), Roman Catholic church

The decanal church was founded already in the half of 14th century.
At the beginning of the 17th century made local builder Peter Patzenhauer extensive rebuilding of it in the late Gothic style. In the presbytery of the church are remarkable murals from 1605. The stained glass windows, depicting the Heart of Jesus and the Heart of Mary are also very nice.
The internal walls of the church contains tombstones of the Lords of Vartenberk, originating mostly from the 16th and 17th century. Outstanding among them is the massive marble epitaph of Christopher of Vartenberk, which is one of the most beautiful Renaissance tombstones of 16th century. Great tower with belfry with the turret clock and thee bells and look-out gallery makes the integral part of the church and whole complex makes a remarkable dominant of the predominantly Gothic center of the town.
