Lipnice Castle (Lipnice nad Sazavou)

 Renaissance (architecture), Gothic (architecture), moated castle
The oldest buildings and towers of the castle dates from the early 13th century. Despite large modifications in the Renaissance style the castle retained mostly a Gothic character. In the 1869 the castle was destroyed by fire, but fortunately it was completely prevented against dilapidation by Czech Tourist Club, which it bought in 1924. At the end of the 20th century, the castle underwent a major reconstruction.
