Banya Bashi Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Europe, having been completed in 1566, projected by famous Ottoman Architect Sinan during the years of the Ottomans. Evliya Chelebi, the Ottoman traveller, says about the mosque in his book as The mosque with the most beautiful minaret in Sofia.
