"If you stand on the appropriate month-engraved stone in the middle of the sundial, your shadow will cast on to the appropriate time-engraved stone. Of course, this doesn’t allow for Daylight Savings Time. Many people who visit the sundial note that there is an echo, even when whispering. That is an unplanned, natural phenomenon we believe is caused by the encircling stone wall and the tightly spaced shrubs."
