It is one of the oldest trown in the district Mau, Uttara Pradesh. The name of the town is in the name of queen Kopeshwari Devi, Grand mother of queeen Dhandaie Kunwar. This town has a mix population of hindus and muslims with majority of muslims. This town is famous for textiles industries particularly handloom sarees.
