The temple belongs to Lord Shiva and made in the memory of Swami Akhandanand-ji Saraswati, the famous spiritual guru in India. His study and work on Shrimad-Bhagawat (a spiritual book also known as Srimad-Bhagwatam) is of ultimate value. He was the supreme authority on all the holy scriptures ("shastra") and one of the foremost saints of India in the twentieth century. Swamiji loved one and all - whether they were followers of other faiths, rich or poor, old or young - whosoever came to him with hope was never disappointed. He showered his divine blessings on all throughout his life.

Swami Akhandanand-ji Saraswati was a honorary trustee of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan (along with many world leaders including Dalai Lama, Prince Charles, Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Swami Gangeshwaranandji, et al) and president of Bharat Sadhu Samaj in 1960's. His disciples established Anand Vrindavan and other charitable trusts in Vrindavan, Varanasi, and Mumbai (formerly Bombay). He inspired many religious leaders/monks and leading industrialists, as well as common folks poor and wealthy alike, on the spiritual path with the same love and attention.
