This was once the site of a Nike Anti-aircraft missile battery from 1955 to 1962. Sites like this were situated around Detroit to protect it from Soviet bombers. The pits have been filled in but are still there. The site has been covered by a soccer field and the barracks have been converted into a community center. A Nike-Hercules missile and plaque are in place as a memorial at the park.
