Gorna Sushitsa | village

The village is located 15 km from Sandanski and 4 km from Melnik, but it’s really difficult to reach as the road to it is more like a forest path. It is not known when the village was founded, but it is believed to had been founded by migrants from the Nevrokop area. To preserve their faith and their Bulgarian names, they were forced to flee to safety. The traditional festival of the village is on 14 October and the village’s feast is on 29 June. Gorna Sushitsa is a starting point for routes to the Pirin Hut.
