Lamar High School, more formally known as Mirabeau B. Lamar High School is an HISD high school originally opened in 1937. The school has a business magnet program offering a wide array of business management courses, as well as cooperation with the Houston business community to provide internships and university scholarships and their athletics team was called the Redskins (see picture above) until it was changed to the Texans in 2014 to be more "culturally sensitive". LHS was portrayed in the 1998 film Rushmore as "Grover Cleveland High School" and is currently undergoing substantial rebuilding into a denser format with open-format classrooms.

  • Coolest high school.
  • Lets be honest, this is a high school for middle class students. If your daddy is surgeon or a lawyer, then you go to school next door.
