Chester W. Nimitz Senior High School is a public secondary school in the Aldine Independent School District, made up of two campuses located at 2005 W.W. Thorne Boulevard in an nincorporated section of north Harris County, Texas, just west of Bush Intercontinental Airport. Nimitz Senior High serves Grades 10 through 12; Nimitz Ninth Grade Center serves Grade 9. Opened in 1978 as the AISD's fifth high school, Nimitz serves portions of the city of Houston, the Aldine ISD portion of the city of Humble, and unincorporated portions of north Harris County. It is named in honor of Admiral Chester William Nimitz, commander the U.S. Naval Pacific Fleet during World War II.
