New Mexico Wind Energy Center

New Mexico Wind Energy Center is a wind farm stretching for 14 miles (22 km) north-south along the rim of the mesa about 10-19 miles northeast of Fort Sumner, and 170 miles southeast of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Officially opened on October 1, 2003, it consists of 136 GE Energy 1.5s wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 204 MW.
