Ipurupalem (also spelled as Epurupalem) village code-2) belongs to Chirala mandal (Mdl code-23) of Prakasam Dt, AP. Mostly the village is populated with Handloom weavers.
It is located on the National Highway NH214A and adjoining Mandal head quarter Chirala. The village Sarpanch is Palaparthi Nageswara Rao. New generation are educated and in IT jobs in Bangalore, USA, Hyderabad and Pune.
Late Ande Rama Rao, the then President of the village in the 1970-1980 has built the ZP High High School.
The village has population more than 40000.the main occupation in Ipurupalem is "Weaving".most of students from this village doing good jobs in several places across country as well as foreign countries worldwide.Ipurupalem prduced some prominent personalities Guddanti Umakantham Bhagavatar, Scientist Dr.Ande Murali, Collector Palaparti Venkateswarlu, IAS and now number of IT professionals.
