Church of the Good Shepherd Rectory

USA / New Jersey / West New York / East 31st Street, 236

4-story rectory originally completed as a townhouse in 1880. The house was purchased by the recently-built Incarnation Church next door in 1909 for use as its rectory, later renamed Church of the Good Shepherd in 1963. It is clad in brownstone, painted white on the upper floors. The entrance on the right is down a few steps from the sidewalk, with a bright red wooden door set in a molded surround. There are two segmental-arched windows to the left with iron grilles.

The upper floors have three bays of single-windows. On the 2nd floor they have stone panels below with beveled diamond shapes, while the top two floors have simple sills. The facade is crowned by a black metal roof cornice with console brackets and panels.
