Constructed in 1985, the MOF is a state-of-the-art indoor fabrication and assembly facility for modular components which are joined to create Virginia Class nuclear powered Attack Submarines.
With an overall height of 10 stories and capable of accomodating two submarines under construction side-by-side, the facility will be kept at full capacity producing the 15 boats of the Virginia Class awarded to Newport News Shipyard.
