300-foot, 27-story cooperative-apartment building completed in 1967 as part of the Mitchell-Lama housing program. Designed by Frederick G. Frost Jr. & Associates, it is clad in red brick above a white stone ground floor. The top half of the tower is a slab rising from a lower half that has three projecting wings on both the east and west sides.
The main entrance is south of center on the avenue, with a revolving glass door. It is framed by a pair of brick pillars, and there are large windows to either side. The rest of the ground floor is lined with stone, metal, and glass storefronts, with a raised plaza area in front of part of the building. The upper floors on the west facade have three bays of tripartite windows in each of the three projecting wings, and the two recessed areas have two bays of tripartite windows flanking two sets of French doors that open onto projecting concrete balconies with white-metal-and-frosted-glass railings, beginning at the 3rd floor. All of the windows have white metal framing. The three projecting wings set back above the 16th floor, where they are topped by metal railings. The rest of the tower continues up vertically to the roof line where there is another metal railing. Above the terminations of the projecting end wings at the north and south, there are two more tripartite window bays at the ends, which are also set back from the north and south elevations. Above the termination of the center projecting wing, there is another pair of tripartite windows, with a blank space in the center. A brick water tower enclosure rises from the center of the roof.
The east facade is an exact match of the west facade. The north facade on 95th Street has several bays with roll-down metal doors at the ground floor. On the other side of a narrow plaza east of the tower is a ramp down to the underground parking garage. The upper floors on the north and south facades have three bays of tripartite windows in the middle, flanked by a double-window, and single-window end bays spaced farther apart. Above the 16th-floor setback, the narrower upper tower has two bays of single-windows on the north and south elevations. Along 94th Street, the plaza area east of the tower is much more expansive.
The building contains 194 apartments. The ground floor along the avenue is occupied by Little Shop of Crafts, Lucy's Hair Studio, River Park Nursery School, and Albee Baby baby store.
