park, forest

A remnant of the ancient 'Forest of Essex', Larks Wood is an isolated area of woodland situated in Chingford, in the London Borough of Waltham Forest. Once in the estate of the Manor of Chingford Earls, acquired by Henry VIII in 1544, the wood has long been noted for its rich bluebell population and remains a peaceful retreat hidden amongst the suburban streets of north-east London.
