Manufactured by Howard @ Co, Boston, 1889, this clock stood in front of jewerly stored owned and operated by Charles N. Hancher in the 1200 block of Market Street in Wheeling since 1890. It remains a downtown Wheeling landmark primarily due to the efforts of Ray Young. Gleen White has restored and maintains the clock's movements. A project of the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation, its restoration and placement here in 1998 was possible due to the participation and generosity of many local businesses and individuals.
