Some articles, from tourist guides to research works mention the chapel as St Jacob.
Erected and already in use in the second half of the 13th century (an exact date is not known). Some sources indicate the chapel was built only in the late 14th century or early 15th century.
Saint Stephen's Chapel was transformed after the 1838 (1831?) earthquake into a house.
From the old chapel it is preserved the polygonal apse with painting remnants from the 14th century (St. Christopher, St. Stephen's head in the stoning scene). The chapel had no basement.
