Site of "the Casino," a rustic cabin George Hale lived in when he was setting up the Mount Wilson Solar Observatory in 1904.
This small lot just east of the main public parking area is used for various events, including night time "star parties" presented by the Mount Wilson Observatory Association and other amateur astronomy groups.
Photo from 1956 shows this area when it was still the public parking lot for the Mount Wilson Hotel (which still exited then.)
