Former site of a WWII-era US Coast Guard HF/DF ("huff-duff") site from July 1944 to August 1946. Its call sign in the Coast Guard HF net was NNF.
The site was known as Little Navy after the naval security group moved here from Bells Flats in May 1954. NSGA Cape Chiniak was a detachment of Naval Communications Station, Kodiak and operated a direction finding radio net as part of a net surrounding the Pacific. The site was decommissioned on 11 Apr 1966.
