USCG Station Calumet Harbor is the largest and busiest station in the Ninth Coast Guard District, with its crews running an average of over 200 search and rescue (SAR) Cases and conducting 1,000 law enforcement boardings each year. In addition to enforcing an average of 10 Presidential Security Zones each year, the station and its crew also provide safety and security for over 75 major marine events including the Chicago Air and Water Show; the largest event of its kind in the world with over 3,000,000 spectators.
