  • This Aba Yohani rock hewn monastery is a magnificent church of its kind in Tigray and in Ethiopia which believed it was constructed in the 5th century. As you can see it is in the mid of the mountain. according to the monks its half part gone when the mother of the saint came to him and he jumped and fall out of the church and saint Gebril took him to other hidden place know in the Bible as "Hager Hiyawan".
